LET"s Talk: info@greenaryleaf.com
I have a short story behind my decision to grow houseplants.
I am 30, develop social anxiety and don’t want to leave my house. My doctor advised me to take Lexapro (a psychological medication), and I browse the internet all day from home. Even though my dad runs a business and always tells me to make time for it, I was dull and bored and couldn’t talk to people.
Day by day, I was experiencing both mental and physical sickness.
Then, One day I had come up with a blog and learn about the health benefits of indoor plants in home. I then decided to do something where I wouldn’t have to interact with other people directly. The idea was indoor gardening!
Now, I am going to explain the health benefits of indoor plants in home.
Plants keep our immunity strong
Green plants have natural substances that keep our immunity strong and protect us from many bacterial and viral attacks. As a result, we have fewer colds, skin issues, fatigue, and headaches.
Green plants improve air quality
Plants can enhance the overall air quality of a room. They reduce formaldehyde levels.
I bought two snake plants and noticed a remarkable change. The level went from 45 mcg/m³ to 10 mcg/m³. By the way, the formaldehyde upper limit is 10 mcg/m³. You can also measure it with a formaldehyde test kit.
Now I enjoy fresher air than before. I was also suffering from allergies, like sneezing and colds in the dry winter. My houseplants increased the humidity of my room. Now I don’t feel dryness in my nose; they provide relaxing air through my nose.
Plants can reduce stress
Plants reduce stress. Research has found that plants help maintain good blood pressure and heart rate. Those who work on computers and other robotic tasks find a relaxing effect in their work.It also impacts our cortisol hormone, which regulates the body’s stress response.
Plants help relax the eyes
It is proven that green and blue colors are naturally calming. The green color of plants can soothe our eyes, especially by healing the strain of screen time in the modern era. After an hour of mobile or computer screen time, I stare at my green plants. They also reduce eye fatigue.
Plants can improve productivity
Who wants traditional office equipment all day? Adding some plants to office decor may improve staff productivity. One study found that employee productivity increased by 15% after decorating the office with houseplants.
Indoor plants also provide fragrance and color, which add an extra vibe for employees.
Houseplants can support mental health
It’s human nature to love seeing something grow. A houseplant can be as meaningful as a pet. It gives a sense of achievement. Taking care of indoor plants by yourself makes one more mentally resilient and schedule-oriented.
It also helps with better sleep at night. A sound sleep ensures a sound mind.
Plants are excellent home decor
Like other home decor items, houseplants make excellent decor. They are affordable, lively, and full of energy. You can decorate your living room, bedroom, balcony, kitchen, and even bathroom with colorful plants.
So why wait? Keep an indoor garden according to your needs. It’s a great way to pass leisure time, and it also brings joy and meaning to life.
